External Review: Kristopher’s Place (Greenfield)

Not too far from my house, there are a couple of “restaurants” on Murray. I’m not talking about the stretch of Murray in Squirrel Hill proper (i.e., near Forbes Ave); these ones are in Greenfield across the street from the Green Field Giant Eagle. I’ve been to one of them, Debbie’s Diner. I haven’t been to the other: Kristopher’s Place. It looks like someone over at the Connect Greenfield blog has.

Based on that review, I’d still like to give it a try (for the sake of trying something different). That said, I don’t expect much. I’m a little too health conscious to enjoy the kind of Dive that Kristopher’s appears to be. I’ll try to keep an open mind and post my own thoughts if I ever try it.

Let me know when you plan to go… those places look intriguing, but I would never go by myself!

Scott & I went to The Coop (when my dad was in town to act as bodyguard) and we were surprised at how good the food was. It was fried bar food (fish and shrimp – we went on a Friday, so the fish was on special), but it was quite tasty. The Coop has wings and ribs specials on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and we’re planning to go back there and check them out (after Lent, when I can eat meat again).

I moved to Greenfield after college and always went to Kristopher’s for breakfast on the weekends and it always helped my hangovers.
Their Reubens are HUGE and really great, and the omelets can’t be beat. The sausage and cheese, bacon and cheese and ham and cheese are my favorites.
The waitresses are really really nice. We take our kids there for breakfast every Saturday and they always make cute special pancakes for my kids and they know my husbands order before he even opens his mouth.
Mark, also always gives my kids a candy bar on the way out.
Kristopher’s is great. Give it a try this weekend!!

Also, Emily, I know someone who works at The Coop and they do have good food. The fish on Friday’s during Lent is awesome and the ribs are great too. They also have really good hoagies. Too bad the place is such a dive. I wish it were more of a restaurant and less of a bar.
