The Rise of Bearer

Jeff Bearer, of Craft Beer Radio fame, has been a member of the “Pittsburgh Food Scene” for some time now, but the past few weeks he’s really started to make a name for himself. At least in the media sources that I follow, Jeff’s name and ongoing activities has come up 3 times–all in different outlets.

  • For all of last week, he was at Philly Beer Week talking to all sorts of craft brewers who were already familiar with him
  • For March 10, I hear of CBR interviewing Tom Kehoe of Yards
  • For March 20, I see twitter posts for his gathering of beer podcasters at The Sharp Edge

Jeff’s a great guy with a lot to say about beer, so it’s great to see him really making a name for himself. I’m going to try and hit up his Sharp Edge Creekside, but I’m hosting a big St. Patrick’s Day party going on the next night and need to do some food prep beforehand. We’ll see what I can do.

The First Annual Beer Safari Hopcamp… (how does it end?)
Sharp Edge Creekside
288 West Steuben Street
Pittsburgh, PA 15205
Friday, March 20 from 6-8:00pm

If you’re interested, he’s bringing together James Spence, of Basic Brewing Radio, Sickpuppy from Should I Drink That, and, of course, himself. As a subscriber to all three of those podcasts (and a real follower of 2), I think it sounds like a great time.
