Pinati: Left for Passover and Never Returned

I actually don’t know if they closed before passover or not, but it made for a good headline. Plus, I know last year they were closed for the entirety of Passover. The end result is the same, though: Pinati is now closed for good. The sign is gone and the entire space is empty. Thanks to SaurabH for reminding me to post this one.

No More Pinati

Quite honestly, it’s not that surprising. I never believed that running a restaurant closed on Friday night and all day Saturday could be  profitable venture. The lackluster customer service and extremely limiting corkage requirements (Kosher wine only) were upsetting. If the didn’t serve up such fantastic falafel, I doubt they would have lasted as long as they did.

The good news: this is a nice space for a restaurant and I’m sure someone will be able to do something with it. Maybe not in the next few months, but definitely at some point. I look forward to giving that still non-extant restaurant a try.
