Ayran? I've heard a similar item called "<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lassi" rel="nofollow">lassi</a>" (though many american shops sell a sweet version under that name). In any case, It sounds like I have to give Taza 21 another try.

I hope they stick around for some time as well! It's a great addition to Murray Ave.

We really love the Shwarma from Taza 21. The lamb is best. The couple mixes fresh meat (grilled like proper kebab meat) with mint, fresh veggies and offer a wonderful yogurt cucumber sauce on the side. It has never disappointed me.

Also, in terms of drinks, try the Shwarma with an Ayran, which is a somewhat salty yogurt drink common in the middle east. It complements the sandwich perfectly and is very authentic. I really hope this place survives.

I've never been disappointed with their food, always a great atmosphere and attitude from the owners. We're so used to 'fast food' that we forget that to make a damn good sandwich takes time and attention, which they do.

Just found they have a website over at http://www.taza21.com that really makes their food look great!
