I have eaten Mexican food since I was a child. Some of it was prepared by the Mexican mother of a childhood friend in the traditional manner. I have eaten at the best Mexican restaurants across the U.S. but the first time I ate at Mad Mex I was blown away. Here is the test for me: You are on a deserted island (with MaryAnn and Ginger of course) but one day you find a magic tiki. The tiki tells you that you can have a restaurant on the island. Now I have considered and studied this question from all angles for many months and, not surprisingly for me it would be MAD MEX! The beer list alone makes it a worthy choice. Some "tenderfoot gringos" have complained to me that the food is too spicy. To this I say "WAH", "WAH", "WAH"! At lunchtime it's completely reasonable. Far less crowded than the Union Grill, Five Guys, LuLu's, or Fuel & Fuddle.
